Energy is a commonly used term that describes an important part of daily life. Since the concept of energy can be abstract, it is important to approach this topic in a practical, hands-on manner. Students will explore and identify different ways in which energy is used every day, especially by living things as a means of survival. Students will also develop an understanding that they have a variety of choices when using energy, and that these choices should be made responsibly
Big Ideas:
- Everything that happens is a result of using some form of energy;
- The sun is the principal source of energy for the earth;
- Humans need to be responsible for the way in which we use energy.
